Good question,
aren't the newer versions more/bigger rated in 'liters' more boost,
bigger SC has more displacement/moves more volume,
maybe just internally (?) I don't know on new stuf
a different tune maybe too (?) more air more fuel
a different Throttle Body size maybe too (?) more air more fuel
like 2.6ltrs vs 2.8ltrs or something like that (?)
maybe different belts & tensioners (?)
maybe different sized air box size of tube/intake, for the bigger TB (?)
different injector size/rating needed maybe too (?) more boost more fuel/bigger inj.s
they would be 'probably' bigger physically, taller maybe too (?)

IT ALL MAY BE INTERNAL DIMENTIONS
