So as the title reads I have a 63 belvedere with a bored and stroked 440 dual cross ram. This was my dads dream car which he bought 10 years ago and recently passed away and gave the car to me.

I know a bit about the car and have restored cars before 2 trans ams (never had the money for a mopar) I have done alot of little stuff on this car with my dad but now that it is my car there are a couple things I noticed that need to be addressed

no back seat what so ever so if anyone has a back seat let me know

No speedometer

Lots of play in the steering wheel which it always had but my dad never really cared ( i find it frightening )

thanks kyle

welcome to FBBO

Hi Kyle
welcome aboard!
Thanks for joining the forum.

Nice car, I'm doing the same right now with a 63 Polara

Hey Kyle, I'm in orleans. We should hook up and take a look at the steering. Just went through the same thing with my 67.

Sure, but its in the garage for the winter and Im 90% sure it needs a steering box, and Im not sure I want to fork out 500 for a steering box until closer to spring.

Im is Kanata close to canadian tire center btw

Yeah I'm done for the year too. We can revisit this Spring. I have my old power steering box laying around. Leaks a little though.

Kyle sorry about he passing of youyr father. You have a beautiful car their. Welcome aboard FBBO. This car is very special, plus it's a gift from your father. I hope you cherish it.

I always will until I give it to my daughter!

Check to see if you can tighten the steering play with the set screw and lock nut on top of the steering box. It is a long shot but "might" work to take out the play.

Welcome to the site and sorry to hear about your dad's passing. That is a wonderful legacy car that he left for you. Fix it and show it....keep us posted....

Wow, your dad left you a really nice car. Hope you have a good time driving it and showing it off. It's possible that the steering box just need adjusted. If you can't do the work yourself, I would have a good local front end shop (not one of the chains) look at it. Good luck.

Thanks,I have a good mechanic and I have restored a couple cars myself, I don't really plan on driving it much tho I have just sold a 1980 pace car trans am that I restored and he did leave me a 2005 srt10 ram as well and I have 3 other cars on top of that. So the plymouth is a car that meant alot to my dad and me and I just want to make it perfect and maybe drive a little better and maybe drive it once a month.
