I'm a lifelong Mopar fan. Bought my first one when I was 12 for $135, (Mom didn't know until it was sitting in the drive) a 67 Chrysler Newport w/ a 383. In 1982 came the 68 Fury III fast top. (no engine or trans.) for $100, didn't realize it was a 4 speed car until I pulled the hulking shag carpet out and saw the hump, and it wasn't until later learning what the H engine code meant. I've had numerous other Mopars over the years. Ah, the 80s...lol. Kept the Fury all this time. Drive it when can. It sits most days. I'm now down to the Fury, Charger, and two trucks. (And a few parts Chargers hidden here and there.)
The 68 Hemi Charger came after my mother died. After the funeral, went salvage yard hopping to take my mind off things. Found it sitting off by itself, no grille, multicolored body parts. The interior was all piled loose inside. I Looked at the VIN, J code?? huh, never seen one with that before.. Wait.. oh sh.. really? I just Had to buy it. Work on it is going slow being so busy with business and work. The custom Charger was a fun driver I sold to a friend a couple years ago.
I also restore 68-70 B-body Rallye clusters, steering columns, a few bumper jacks and other small parts. I go to 15-20 swap meets every year and always find treasures. Where ever I may roam, I try the local yards to see what they have as well. I won't be on here every day but hopefully, we can help each other find what's needed to finish our projects!
Have a blessed day!
Thanks!
