Hello from a newbie

Welcome from NorCal!

sweet ride!

Don’t let anybody butcher that beauty! But I’m sure you already know

“Stock Rocks” as Nick likes to say

She run? If no, when was the last time?

Got mine from my uncle with with some engine problem that took off the road at 112k in the early 90s, don’t have memories of every seeing it running in stock form.

Did an overhaul in my high school shop, with some performance upgrades

If I knew then what I know now, I just would of kept it stock and upgrade as I go

Having some before and after experience with it would have been really nice

Just needed was timing chain & gears replaced and hardened valve seats for unleaded gas... it was so babied prolly would have gone to 200k before needing a rebuild

318 can be a nice efficient V8, maybe do duals and some mild chamber mufflers and have a really nice sounding cruiser easy on the wallet to drive

Experiencing the car stock, if you haven’t before, maybe a good reference for the trade-offs of performance upgrades

Suspension is pretty good for their day, just needs bushings replaced and other worn out stuff, maybe do a disc brake conversion (stock disc of later years bolts on pretty easy)

But it’s your thang, do whatever you want with it

Just some hindsight of a similar sounding situation; thought it might be helpful
(sorry it got a bit long)

WELCOME!!
