Hello all,

My name is Mike and I live in near Columbus, Ohio and NO I'm not a buckeye, I'm originally from Michigan so I'm a Wolverine...Go Blue!!! I retired a few years back after 32 yrs in the Navy and my retirement gift to ME is the 64 Belvedere I bought a few weeks ago. It looks like a Max Wedge clone, nicely restored both top and underneath, majority of the work has been done but still needs minor things to finish both inside and outside. I'm still trying to gather info about the car, the guy I bought it from had it about 2 yrs but isn't much of a gear head so he doesn't know a lot about it. The previous owner is the one who restored/rebuilt it about 6 yrs ago. Here's what I've been told so far: 500ci wedge has a cross ram and Edlebrock heads with 2.14/1.81 valves. The cam is a Comp hyd cam with the following specs: lift .519 I .524 E duration 294/306 center line 106 and 110 lobe separation (there's more on the cam sheet if anyone wants additional info). The internals are from 440 Source...crank, rods and pistons. Headers are 2" primary into 3 1/2 collectors (not sure of the brand yet) and a 3" press bent exhaust (will be replaced). Not sure what if any work has been done to the trans but there is a higher stall converter in there, my guess about 3500-4000 stall. Rear is a Dana 60 with 4.10 gears I think it must a Detroit locker based on how it chirps going around a corner. Also has Cal-trac bars I've seen them before but not yet familiar enough with them to even try and make any adjustments.

I've got a few questions about the car but I'll try and search the archives before I start a new thread. I have owned in the past and currently own Mopars. I had a 66 Charger that I rebuilt with a 440 6 pack, a 09 SRT8 Charger and currently my wife and I own a 2011 Ram 1500 with a Hemi and a 2012 300s with a Hemi. Thanks for reading my rambling introduction and feel free to offer comments as well as suggestions, I look forward to learning more and hopefully talking and meeting fellow enthusiasts.

Mike aka The New Guy

a shout out from my VAN ....down by THA RIVER! and thank you for the service even if you are a yankee.

Thanks everyone for your "welcome aboard". Just a quick update....I've pulled my gauges and sent them to Reline Gauge Works for reconditioning and rebuilding. I'm having the clock changed to a tach and the amp gauge changed to a volt gauge. The bezels were all sent to GCAR for refinishing....now the waiting begins but at least the weather here in Ohio will suck for the next 5-6 months so the urge to drive the car will be tempered by looking out the window. A couple of projects that I plan on starting on are: I've got a wobble in the front end when going less than 25mph I'll raise the front of the car and check for play. Also, the horn is not working so I'll be working my way from the horn back to the steering column. I just received my wiring diagram from Classic Car Wiring and if you've never heard of them you're missing out. I bought a schematic from them about 20 yrs ago for my 66 Charger and it made life so much easier. Check them out you won't regret it. Well that's about it for now...thanks again for the kind words.

Mike
