Help - 3 speed wiper switch
I am installing a 3 speed wiper motor and switch into a car that originally had a two speed motor. The main multi-port connection fits and appears to be the right wiring configuration, but what goes to the other connections? The one on the left and the one on the bottom? The unconnected ones in the picture.

The service manual says the left connection gets a white wire which goes to the washer switch while the bottom connection goes to the main wiring harness and is brown with tracer wire. When I made the connections my wiper motor only has high and thats it. It won't even shut off when I try all the positions of the wiper switch. Am I missing something here?? Should the wire going into the bulk head in position E be the same as the dash harness wire coming out? I have brown going in and brown with tracer coming out. I hope this isnt confusing. Is there an easy way to test the switch. I tried two switches and they both did the same thing. If anyone has any info for me I would greatly appreciate it.

Are you sure the switch is grounded when testing it? If not, all sorts of wierd things will happen. (i.e. stop mid windshield, speeds whacked, etc...)

The spade on the left is to the washer pump. the spade below the red is for 3speed wiper motors only, drwgs I found (1970 models)call it a resistance cable. it goes to spade A, which is above the red wire. Hope that helps

thanks darkhorse. I haven't messed with it since I last posted. I got to fed up and started working on other stuff. One of these days I will try again. Thanks for the reply.
