HELP - Exhaust route ideas

Lol, budnicks, i love it as loud as possible too... outside the car. even my buddy's straight pipe soft tail is really only loud "behind him". My car reflects back up and in. I just need a way to get the sound out the back and i might even keep the flowbastards.

Here are some pics i took a while ago...

You guys gave me a lot to think about. Maybe i can get some 2.5" pipes between the coil overs and over the track bar and out the back.

Been thinkin i may just try the cuda T/A setup (below) at the suggestion of Marpar. Routing will be cheaper and the Dynomax's come with a 90 day return policy if i dont like the sound.

Decided to go w summit super turbo mufflers and stick with turndowns. Quieter mufflers that flow better than flowbastards and i'm hoping angling the turndowns out will really cut down on the earsplitting drone. Should be here next week so i'll let you know!

make sure to put your turn downs at a 45 degree angle.not strait down and not strait out the side.that will reduce your noise even more.

Will do, thanks. I plan on clamping em on temperarily so i can tune em to just the right angle before welding em.

Good luck with that....

HT413, I was going to suggest that you keep the turndown and use a magnaflow, due to their flowthru design you will keep the flow and the fact that they are wrapped with a stainless matting of sorts it keeps the resonation down. also when you position youy turn downs angle the toward the center this will create a scavenging effect and keep all the trash off of your wheels. I sell alot of Magnaflow muff for the very reason you have, the drone is driving people nuts. good luck with whatever you decide.

Hmmm, you're the second person to suggest angling them to the middle. I will definitely try that. A local Midas has an old school mopar guy and he suggested the same thing.

Yeah, the magnaflows were my 1st choice, i think they're a great muffler. I've been going back and forth but i was thinking on the magnaflows plus having some tailpipes mandrel bent for me, but with Hurricane Sandy damage to contend with a few months ago, my car funds are extremely low (no major damage but still several grand $$). So the summit turbos plus turndowns and some clamps and i'm all in for like $130 and still have some cash for some odds and ends.

About 10 years ago,I installed a new 4 inch stainless exhaust with an "X" pipe and tail pipes out the back bumper.Since then, there is no longer the exhaust smell inside my and I can carry on a conversation while driving 60 MPH down the long Island Expressway, untill I hit the loud pedal.

with a 4 link or ladder bar car, i cant see getting a exhaust past the front crossmember. i have a ladderbar car and when i had caltracs it was no problem running a exhaust system. now it seems that the only way to run an exhaust system is to have it end before the crossmember.
Any other pictures of cars that dont run a 4 link or ladder bar is futile at best.

Since you already ordered your mufflers I'm a little late but what the hell. I've always turned mine out in front of the rears, I personally like them that way and if you have an X or H pipe you hear all 8 cyl. My last car and truck both had them and they sounded great especially when you where passing someone. With my Charger there are new challenges, frame rails, subframe connectors, and a lack of anywhere to put the mufflers other than right where the bend needs to be. I am planning on making a set of stainless chamber mufflers that will turn the exhaust out the side and then make a set of special tips to keep everything up tight. I did the math and plan to make the tips 1"X10" to get under the frame and then open up to 1 1/2"X10" for a little better look. Good luck and I'm sure it will sound great whatever you do.
