I have a 1967 Carter carburetor 4326S with a date code of A9

Meaning, the left front post reads A9 4326S. Does this mean that this was made for 67 high performance 440s manual transmission but it was actually manufactured in January of 1969 for replacement?

How about the 9 being stamped upside down. A6?

how about a picture.

Let's make this really easy.

Yes it was made in January 1969 for over the counter sales or warranty repairs.

They were not yet making 1967 carbs in January of 1966.

Back then the car manufacturers released the ‘67 models in mid August or early September so they were actually making parts including carburetors as early as July for the ‘67 models.

Fully agree. A6 is January 1966. They were still building 1966 cars and parts then.

I have a 1970 car SPD in mid august. A real joy to try and find dated parts for. I see very few parts out there prior to this date.
