Adapt a small hose up to your shop vac and fish for it.
That's amazing technology for $50.I got this last weekend, has a hook and mirror, wife had the smell of a rodent in her vents, easiest fix ever ordered this and the smell went away. Best tool I ever bought.

Before you drop the pan go to a local floor covering tool distributer store and ask for there siga tape and put a glob on the end of a clothes hanger and fish it out. That **** is sticky as hell. If you are able to make contact it will stick. If I were in you position that’s what I would do. Good luck.
Dang I really thought that would work for you. That tape is some sticky stuff. Well good luck. Removing the pan is not to bad of a job.I actually have some of that tape. I just tried one more time and its just not going to happen. THe piece has slid, back towards the center of the engine. If it was a straight shot just down from the fuel pump I 100% I could get it . But its down and to the left I can just BARLEY get touch it with the scope not enough to get anything on it to pull it out.
