Got to my buddy's shop and checked his out... unfortunately it's on a top shelf...but I did confirm no pad stamps, no casting number, and standard bore 426

Back in the early 90’s I pulled the engine from a 70 New Yorker. 440 with those cast water pump mounts over the bell, and a heavy duty 727 behind it. Took it all apart and borrowed a sonic tester, found it to be the thickest 440, by a good margin, I ever had.

if i had that block i would get a set of hemi crossbolted caps and have them installed by a machine shop.. u would not need any girdles or block filler after that. it would only be limited by the thickness of the cylinders and most of those can go an easy 4.320 440 std bore which will accept all modern aftermarket heads...

In my early Hemi buying days 20 years ago I found many industrial had been rebuilt using readily available passenger car parts during rebuilds.

While virtually all came from the factory with solid lifters and adjustable rockers they left Chrysler authorized rebuilders with juice cams and non adjustable rockers.

I bought engines that were off of gensets, irrigation pumps, airport tugs etc. One had solid lifters… all had Chrysler rebuild tags .

I have a hunch the wedges and slant sixes were treated the same.
