Help on Afb , How to remove pin holding air adjustment screw in !

I sent a e-mail to Ole and another shop , Will see if I get any answer back , Will let all you know what I find out , Thanks , Randy

Its gotta be for emissions as it will not let you go to rich on the mixture screws. All the ones I have seen either have a metal cap over the screw so you cant get to it at all or had a plastic cap with a tang so you could only turn it one turn. I dont recall seeing one like this though. Ron

Ok , ole got back to me. He said their is a lead plug over a allen screw , so I am going that direction , thanks for all the help .

Great to hear. I'd appreciate it if you would post a few pictures of all the parts when you get the pin and needle out. Who knows, we might run into this again someday.

I know when I look at the plugs below the mixture screws it looks like the plugs that were on Holley 2 barrel carbs. At the dealer we had to drill a hole next to the plug in the carb and then pop the plug out with a curved all punch. Then we could get to the mixture screws to adjust them. Ron

It's a pin mandated by you now who so the carb could not be enriched. My 1968 factory manual shows no such pin and only shows ABF's used on the 426 duel carbs. Had to go to an old Peterson carb book to find any mention of the pin. They gave on instructions on how to remove them.
