Help To Identify 6 Pack intake and carbs

A guy down the road from me wants to sell me a six pack intake with carbs. He thinks it's all factory stuff, bu doesn't remember what he pulled it off of.

He says it's cast Iron. He says it's a 440 intake. How do I go about checking it out to see what it really is?
The web says a cast iron 2946275 is an early 70 and a 2946276 is from 1970-72
DO they have a date stamp on them?

What's the numbers for the stock carbs?

If it's iron its definitely factory and RB .. the carbs numbers are listed on the web and in other forum posts here. The outer two should have the vacuum pods and are not mechanical.

What's he asking? If it's cheap and the intake is Mopar big block and the carbs are correct for 69-71 or repro mopar 6 bbl carbs buy it no matter and figure out what you have later.

I own a 1970, 440/6 pak 'Cuda (automatic) so I'll offer the following reply to your questions....

- The original carbs came from Holley, with the 2 'outboard' carbs carrying the same List/part number. The center carb was different and had a different list/part number which you should find find stamped in the body of all 3 carburators. If I recall correctly, Holley supplied different part numbers for automatic cars vs. the manuallly shifted cars. I suggest you do some add'l research here on the carbs to get the numbers you're looking for. Note that Holley does offer these carbs today as modern resto versions, so check the part numbers carefully to be sure of what you're looking at.... https://www.holley.com/0-4144-1.asp

- For the intake, MOPAR had an aluminum version and a cast iron version back in the day that went on the cars. When a 6 pack car was built, it may have received either type of intake depending on the plant building the car. At some point I believe the aluminum intakes (made by Edelbrock) were phased out, but I can't recall right now exactly when that happened. An original cast iron intake (which is on my Cuda) will have the Chrysler Penstar in the casting. There will also be a part number and the firing order cast into it, and yes, there should be a casting date too (10 31 69 for example). holy crap.... that guy wants 3K?

the guy down the road wants way way way less. HE told me it was worth more but didn't trust people coming to his house. He stopped at the gas station while I was filing up my Satellite and asked me if I was interested.

I sold my 440 and have no real interest in a Six Pack set up, I was just going to try and help someone out. Going over there tonight, i will see what happens,

This guy figures it is an original set up that the restoring crowd will pay for. While you can getting everything in a kit or part by part basis for a 6 pack, the intake will say either Edelbrock or MoPar on it and be made in aluminum.

On the carbs, I have noticed that the different part numbers for the carbs are just jetting differances and there all the same except the rear small block carb because of the passenger side distribution tab for the small block only.

I just put together one for a 360.

Okay. That didn't work out. The guy has what appears to be a very original, ,been sitting on the shelf 20+ years 440-6 intake.
He told me at the gas station what he wanted for it, but now has changed the price to 1K. Way over my league, i was going to try and make a couple of pennies off of it, but I ain't gambling 1K on something I may have to sit on forever to sale.

If anyone is interested, let me know. I can help with packing and shipping as a favor to a mopar owner.

Thanks for all the PM's but the set up really isn't mine. Like the story said, I met the guy while getting some gas for the Satellite. I went down there last night to buy it, hopefully reselling it for a little coin. A buddy of mine wanted it, I told him I was marking it up, he didn't mind.
Got there and the guy was like, I never told you what I wanted, I was like, Yea you did, .. he then almost confessed to a DUI and changed the price to $1000.00.

I will stop back there tonight and see If I can snap some photo's better than yesterdays. I know the rear carb had "List-4383-1" on it.

I will check again on his price. He told me last night they sell new for 3K, hopefully he doesn't go up again.

Tell him if it was brand new, then you might be willing to pay 2500. After all, he's not a retailer. Something that's needs a total refurbishing isn't worth 1/3 of new because by the time you're done with it, a brand new one could have been had. Can't stand people who say one thing one day and another thing on another day....makes me want to laugh in their face....actually, makes me want to do worse lol

I just looked it up on Mancini's website and for the intake, carbs, and linkage you're looking at $1900 before tax. It might not be original but there are a lot of original parts in a junkyard.

here is what we got...
all three carbs have the right #'s, has an air cleaner, all three carbs open and close, both diaphragms are bad. Part of choke is missing

According to the guy, he was going to put it on a 70 GTX that he was going to restore and like a lot of projects, he sold it off before he did anything to it. He kept the intake and some other parts he has had for it. He says it's been sitting for ten years, I betcha it is more like 15.

He took my offer... so now I have it. Never heard back from the guy who I thought would want it. I am going to take some better pictures and probably sell it. I got a 500 inch bb that I was putting in my 55... almost thinking about sticking it on there.

That Air cleaner might be AAR/TA ... can't recall for sure but that lip is what' making me think that

That is not a AAR Cuda pan. The base plate is a large square that incorp's a rubber/foam gasket to seal to the hood. I don't know what that set up is for/from.

Though my 2 cents is I would have picked it up even at a grand and rebuilt it.

I appreciate the help. There is a forum member here who wants it and hopefully really needs it for his car. I just got to get him the price of shipping. I really have no real use for it other than it just being cool, I don't have a car it could fit and have no plans on buying one...
I have another picture of the base. It looks to only have one hole that is under that gray tape...
