Hi Everybody, as I may have mentioned my 64 Dodge is mainly made up of boxes of random parts that the previous owner kept, with the rest being pieced together from things I have located.

I’m having a difficult time figuring out my steering column. I have two different center shafts, and two column housings, and neither seem to fit in the car correctly. My car has manual steering, fyi.

If you could please do me a favor and measure a couple things, it would help me out a lot. There is a picture below to show what I mean. First, how far does the column stick out of the dash? Then, how much of the shaft extends from the housing to the steering joint? If you happen to be able to measure the shaft itself, that would be awesome too.

Thanks!

Call um

The manual shaft, thread to top of coupler is ~ 43 ". The support bracket center to top of column collar is ~ 10". The is a little adjustment room so dont take a fixed dim approach. but if you are debating if you have A body shaft , there you go.

Awesome. Thank you SO much. I reallyappreciate the help. If I can be of assistance please let me know.

That looks likes nice, but I sold my original column to a buddy and I dont think he has it anymore.

Thanks yep it's in really great shape it's just been all apart and repainted. Looks like I need to take it apart to swap the shaft. Thanks for the measurements again they are very helpful.
