Help with seized nut on Master Cylinder

To tell you the truth I dont no if it is....I dont think so though...Ive cutoff a lot of u bolts that had brake fluid all around and it never ignited...
Might do a burn test!

thank you, Justin. I knew I should have started on this earlier. there is a car show this sunday by the house that Im tryin to get the Newport out to. I dont think it would arrive in time. damn it.

so here is the deal, lost brakes the other day, and limped her home. checked out all the wheel cylinders (brand new-I installed them in Sept last year), no leaks. check the M/C and it is leaking where the M/C meets the booster. I could probably rebuild the old one, but I like new shiny parts, that's why I got the new one.

it couldnt really be anything else leaking, except the caps, right? ie-no quick fix that I could re-use the old master?

How long ago did you change the wheel cylinders? Or how well did you bleed the system???

Torch, a small propane torch with a good line wrench or flare nut ctow foot should suffice. If you worried about fire empty the Mc.
Brakes suck. Period... If you don't have to fix something that you break along the way then you're fortunate.
When I converted my 70 from manual drum to power disc everything that could go wrong did go wrong.
BTW if you mess the flare nut or line up too much you probably should just replace it.
Amen on the NAPA dropping the ball. But they are still soooo much better than O'Reillys as far as hiring competent employees IMO. Good Luck Mar

I believe you located the problem.....Just for sake check all lines...Power bleed the system

Not sure how much line you got to play with but I've had real good luck holding the nut and turning the cylinder. This way your not fighting rust between nut and line. When you get it off you can free up the nut from the line.

ok. that's what I thought. just needed some confirmation.

ya, will bench bleed the new M/C and bleed the system once it's in. guna go old school and have my g-friend actuate the pedal. makes her feel good that she's helping me
