I'm still trying to low buck a 500hp motor together and found some hemi blocks that are damaged or to be more precise- windowed. Some are aluminum and some cast, but all have thrown rods thru the sides. I can get them for cheap but not sure if they'ed be worth the trouble of fixing. Any experienced opinions, thoughts, etc. will be appreciated..

The aluminum blocks for sure. Iron blocks can but its more difficult. Hemi block is always worth it. Unless its in a million pieces of course.

Not sure on the aluminum/s but think the irons were $200 or so.

My Uncle use to race Hemi - and he had to get some blocks fixed from time to time - I can ask what his thoughts are on repairing them . . . if you're interested ? ? ?

both can be fixed, it's not cheap & should be done by someone who knows what they're doing of course
use to send/take them down to KB {or Phaff IIRC} would repair them also

I have a nice MP mega block Hemi that has a nice window in it. The #3 rod let loose and #3 cylinder blew out. Thin wall. 375 passes and went boom.
