Hello
I am setting up a 528 Hemi, I am running Dual E Carbs on an original manifold. Manual Brake car.
Should I use a PCV valve on one side and a Breather on the other ? Should I run the PCV to Vacume on the rear carb ?
When I bought this car, they have a breather on both valve covers with hoses attached, hoses just hang down past the valve covers, not sure if this is the way it should be ? Can it get vented properly this way ?

Thanks

It will vent with both breathers, but will be a bit messy as oily residue is pushed out. Depending on how much blowby it will have. Hopefully minimal. Pcv will hook to manifold vacuum, usually to big port on carb.

Yes, run the PCV on one side and the breather on the other. Typically the breather is on the left side. And PCV hookup will be on the rear carb.

I agree with everyones accessment thus far but I would add...perhaps the reason the PO had duel breathers was the vacuum on the motor was too low to run a PCV effectively. Maybe throw a vacuum gauge on it and see what kind of vacuum it is pulling at idle. But he may well have been of the mind that he didn't want crankcase gases being recirulated into the motor. The tubes hanging down are likely there to prevent a messy engine compartment from oil spray as hemi rebel suggest. Or maybe he figured like the old days he could hang them low enough and at the right angle to suck the gases out at speed like the old vent tubes....IDK

But a PCV and breather would be best overall solution assuming vacuum isn't crazy low on that stroker.

Thanks fo the replies. As far as the Vacuum level, what is to low ???
