I currently am planning to do a couple Hemi swaps this summer. I have a 69 Charger and a 00 Dakota. I also have a 06 5.7 Hemi, 20 5.7 Hemi and a 23 6.4 Hemi I have collected for these projects. I plan to put the 6.4 in the Charger and the 5.7 in the Dakota. I pretty much have everything for the Charger and understand what I have to do but I am not 100% sure what all I will need to do on the Dakota. The dakota is currently a 2000 crew cab 4x4, 4.7, 45rfe automatic. I am not sure how to make the hemi work with the 45rfe. I have also read that you can turn a 45rfe into a 545rfe by using a newer tcm or pcm? I work at a mopar dealer and I am lucky enough to I have access to a few more things than most, if needed. Any advice will be welcomed. Feel free to direct me to previous threads and what not. Thank you.

You might want to talk to these guys, they seem to put G3 Hemis into everything and have worked out some of the kinks.

Sublimeparts
Yes. That was my first choice. I have tried to contact them twice over the last year and had no luck. I have no doubt they're busy and get lots of stupid questions, so I'm being patient. From what I see, it seems like Sublime and Holley are the only businesses who supply parts to do it right. I thought about getting a 8 speed 8hp70 trans and using the Sound German kit from Sublime but then I'm spending another $2-3k. And a manual would cost just about the same after pedals, trans and other parts. I know the Sound German trans kit or finding a donor vehicle is probably the best way to go, but I don't think its wise for me to keep dumping money into a 2000 Dakota.

I understand what you are saying. I think you can control the trans on a stand a lone system as well as the engine. I am using a terminator X max for my 71 charger and I think it has the ability to control a trans (not 100% on that).

I thought about doing the same thing you are to my 01 Ram 1500 4x4 but it is still working well. In my case I could just use the A518 behind the 360 Magnum and be good which is maybe something to think about.
