Here's another slant six Charger

IMG_2246.PNG

I'd buy it and give it a big block and 4 speed ! Then resell it for a bunch more cash ! Nice car though it's rare but rare doesn't always translate to value sadly!

Same here, No way I could leave the 6 in it.

I do like the curbsideclassics blog.....

Interesting perspectives.

Imagine hearing a six cylinder coming down the street, turn around and see that car!

I think it would be cool just the way it is

Again, I'll offer these two simple words.....

Tur Bo.

I'd leave the six in it and go forced induction, stiffer rocker train, CDI ignition....auto trans with shift kit.
Slanty @ 475 lbs is 50 lbs lighter than 273, 318, 340. Wouldn't be purist but it would be 1/2 numbers matching, be torquey & handle better, easier on front tires & brakes. Do some moving of stuff like battery etc from front to back, go to tubular control arms to lighten the nose more. Curb weight of this car is 3100 lbs as is. A little creative trimming would bring it under 3000 lbs no problem.
Get next to a BMW M series six and confuse the bastard as to why your exhaust note is similar to his....those things are turning into such boat anchors, you'd be at least 500 lbs lighter than him, give it a fair run for his money....less weight is as effective as more horsepower...& less weight will always equate to better handling, imo.

Why not leave it the way it is? Park by any other car and open the hood. I guarantee you the crowd will be around your car. Who cares if it aint the fastest? It is unique and that is what sets these cars apart from the cookie cutter cars!

If it wasn't so nice I'd turn it into a Bullitt Charger clone.

Yeah, I LOVE it
The "Curb Side Blog" was a great read!
I wish that 68 slant 6 Charger was my car!

If this car was on the west coast I would check it out. Reading between the lines in the ad, the owner has probably set a fairly high reserve.

BTW, isn't that a Dana out back? Heck of an upgrade for a slanty.

What baffles me is,
some people actually ordered gen 2 Chargers
especially 68's, with slant 6's &/or 3 on the tree...

Why ?

Sorry;
don't get me wrong the leaning tower of power 225ci slant 6
certainly has it's place too, especially in old 60's D-100 trucks &
smaller lighter 60's -70's A-body cars, but not in a 68 Charger....

It looks like a nice car otherwise,
this is the case of "somewhat rare",
doesn't equate to more resale value...

Right now at $22k it'd possibly be worth buying to put a
440 or 426 Hemi & dana-60 with a 4 speed in it...

Sell for far more value than the current state...
Be a ton more fun to drive too...

Painting that car black instead of the QQ1 blue was a sin.

"I had a high school do the paint job, and they did an alright job."

Translation: the paint job really sucks.

But for 22 large (with the reserve not me), the car just aint that nice. Look closely. For instance, notice the alignments.....

Check out the brown steering column, painted door strikers, floor shift carpet and 1970 rear seat...

Yeah obviously
I didn't look at it that close or read much,
QQ1 is an awesome color, painted it black instead
a HS painted it, no less, good catch RC :poke:
the tower of power in a 4000# car,
the best looking year, hands down none the less,
made it a mute point for me anyway...

In the seventies at the Chrysler dealer, we had one traded in. Green, vinyl top with sunroof, six with power steering and AC. A salesman bought it for his teen grandson. I'm sure that kid took some ribbing because of the "Leaning Tower of Power," from his peers. As far as this car goes I have no idea as to worth, but it doesn't look like a 21K car, given in all the errors that need correcting.
