Here's another slant six Charger

What baffles me is,
some people actually ordered gen 2 Chargers
especially 68's, with slant 6's &/or 3 on the tree...

Why ?

Sorry;
don't get me wrong the leaning tower of power 225ci slant 6
certainly has it's place too, especially in old 60's D-100 trucks &
smaller lighter 60's -70's A-body cars, but not in a 68 Charger....

It looks like a nice car otherwise,
this is the case of "somewhat rare",
doesn't equate to more resale value...

Right now at $22k it'd possibly be worth buying to put a
440 or 426 Hemi & dana-60 with a 4 speed in it...

Sell for far more value than the current state...
Be a ton more fun to drive too...

Yeah, I see your point Budnicks
But, back then, they were all "just cars"
Kind of like a 67 Corvette with a "straight 6-cylinder" huh?
Yeah, I see your point!
now?
Certainly an oddity!
Again, kind of neat to me!.

Bidding is up to $29K. Someone thinks it's worth it.

Mopar had a kind of odd policy about what shifter setup you could/could not get in what car lines.

For instance a small block or six with a manual trans would ONLY (yes I said ONLY) be a 3 speed and ONLY column shifted in a B body car. If you wanted a floor shifter or a 4 speed, you had to order at least a 361 or 383-2. IIRC this applies up to 1970, when a 3 speed floor shift was std on some small block B body cars.

In a A body a floor shift 3 speed or even a 4 speed could be ordered (or even was standard) with a six or SB.

Wonder why?

cool info YY1

I think it'd be a fun daily driver! But not at 29k.

Yeah, a real fun driver. I can just imagine blasting down the highway doing about 50, then you tromp the gas and....nothing.

Sorry, man....A slanty is an A body engine, a light duty D-100 engine, an A-100 engine or maybe a city taxicab mill.
A Charger with a slant six is like a beautiful woman with NO personality and a flat chest. You expect more from a Charger. I could see one in a basic Belvedere or Coronet because those cars were also available as 4 door models. A 2 door car is thought of as more sporty.
Slant six engines sound weird too. The best sound a slant six makes is the THUD they make when you push them out of the bed of your truck into the dirt.

Flat chests are ok as long as the nipples are big.
