Guys,

I ran across a word of mouth 79 300 the other week. I went to look at it, and it is all original except for a few odd ball things. The owner who hasn't had it long said that it has 115k miles on it. Looking at the paperwork from who he bought it from said it had 112k miles. Looking at this car, I cannot believe it turned over the 100k mark because the interior is pristine. My question is have you ever seen a 79 300 that was high mileage with perfect interior. No cracks in the leather (original), head liner, ect. The carpet is a little dirty, but the car itself is very clean.

I bought a 39k mile 300 a few years back but had to sell it for funds for another car. It also had good interior, but this one is even better.

What are the chances it has only 15k original miles....

Have you looked at other signs of usage? Brake pedal pad, hows the general condition of the engine? pull a wheel and do a brake shoe check, are the orig drum retainers there? pull the oil fill cap, whats the grunge level on the rockers?

First of all, "high mileage" is a relative term. My 75 has 118 while my 08 has 70.

Yes, interiors can be in very good condition. Why not? It really depends on the owner.

The car is cheap, so I'll probably pick it up and fix it up with my sons in the future. I have seen a lot of 75-79 Cordobas and 300's and the low mileage ones don't have interior like this one.

Car runs smooth and good.

Ah, I wouldn't sweat the mileage too much. It seems like the car was well taken care of...take a good look at it before you buy it and have at it. It sounds good for the price!!

It also depends on the climate where the car was kept, 30 years in the Florida sun turned my cars "rich corinthian leather" into road kill possum.

Could be lots of highway miles or have swapped seats. Either way the motor deserves to have atleast 300 hp.

Garages and even car ports do a LOT to help keep tings from deteriorating.

How about 700HP? blr mtr2.jpg

Possible but not likely. Wife's has 28K on the odometer and the driver's seat has some cracks in it. Still has original "T" style cotter pins in the tie rod ends though.

I just looked at this post. My 2 cents. We had a new 75 Charger that was only used as a road trip car,not for daily driving.Only the driver, maybe a passenger now and then.Dozens of trips from Pa to Va, SC, Florida etc.Several more to Colorado. Never driven in snow, always garage kept, Racked up 130K + and the car looked new in and out.
