Highest resale color for a B Body?

My dad and I used to go to car auctions for entertainment, tho he did buy two cars at auction.
I remember seeing lots of 55-57 t-birds cross, over the years.
The two I most remember were both 1957 F-series birds, the factory supercharged ones.
First, MANY years ago, I didn't know what an f-bird was, couldn't understand why that white one was double what all the other birds were bringing
The point of this post is coming.
The next couple f-birds all brought about the same, good money.
But the last one I saw.... professionally restored by a world famous T-bird restorer, it was GORGEOUS! And it sold for WELL under market value for that quality car.
Why? Because the restorer would NOT give it a color change, and it was basically..... gloss army green. In and out.
I think a color change might have added 50k to that car.

I'd wager a color change on that brown V code Challenger would hurt it a lot more than the brown ever did.

I'd agree with that, I sure wouldn't change that v-code either.
Maybe the Ford guys are more particular about color.
But for similar rarity, would you change a F5 HemiCuda convertible to something else.... if you hated green?

not a chance........

in the 80s, resale red on used cars may have added something..... but in 2024, high end collector cars need to be original color IMO

Ok, I'll play and I'm not being pedantic. The OP said "shade", not "color". As you know, shade and color are not the same.

Color Me Gone :p
Shade ? Ok. In THAT case.... I'll prefer... a Whiter Shade of Pale.

I'd never let a color get between me and a real nice car....... except maybe that pepto bismol pink they put on a few

I haven’t let the colour deter me either. But I passed on a beautiful 70 Road Runner cause it didn’t have buckets and consol. Now I wish I hadn’t passed it up. Kim

column shift would probably be a deal breaker for me....... much more so than the color

I love yellow, black, or blue cars in the era in question. Red doesn't excite me much. Dark metallic green or Turbine bronze always get my attention.

To me, a red car is likely a "resale red" job, since that is very common.

I had a column shift car... Nearly swapped in a 4spd... But decided to sell it instead.... Got it back almost two years ago... Gathering parts to put a 5spd into it....To cheap to buy the kit.... Soon....
