Hire the Handicapped as Engine Builders

Is that parking spot just for wheelchairs?

If you have to ask I'm thinking you're "mentally challenged" !! You must have a wheelchair permit to park in those spots but you don't need to be in or using a wheelchair. And the permit holder must be in the vehicle.

Maybe I should have started out saying my disabled brother in law says that. Because he gets tired of people asking him about his disability because he isn't in a wheelchair.

I identify as financially handicapped, not financially disabled, please know the difference and don't offend me by calling me broke lol

I've been telling my wife I'm mentally handicapped for years. She said I not gonna get away with it.

Well I also often wonder when I see people park in those spots - with a permit - but they seem perfectly healthy when they walk over to the store. HOWEVER, I'm not a cop so its not my job to question them. BUT, I WILL challenge someone who parks in those spots and doesn't have a permit.

Feeling pretty Crippled right now with the sciatica acting up. Offended too.

I had met an engine builder in Los Angeles recommended by a buddy. He was blind. An accident blinded him. Had years of engine experience prior. He built me a ford 289 For the wife’s mustang and that engine ran great. He did short block and heads. All his measuring tools were Braille.

What are we going to do with "Handiman"?

Yep a handicap is something for bad bowlers and golfers !

I originally named my Challenger street/strip car "Mentally Challenged". 1) Because it is a Challenger. 2) Because I must be mentally challenged for picking one of the most expensive cars to restore and build a race car out of. 3) because I chose a Hemi to build even made it more expensive. Too many people took offense to the name and always made comments about it. It was in no way ever to offend anyone who is, or knows someone with any disabilities.

When I was studying Auto Technology at Hartnell College in Salinas, California circa 1973-75, our class took a field trip to nearby San Jose, California to tour an engine rebuilder facility. The employee that was doing the hands-on final assembly was a deaf/mute and it was mentioned that his handicap probably came him an edge when checking fit and tolerances because he had a very well developed tactile sense.
cool story thanks for sharing

some very capable/talented people
with less senses that US
some are Impressive

there's a reg. guy Jay Blake in NHRA TA/FC
do a web search for him
IIRC it was Bangshift had a good write up & video
of him removing & installing a TA/FC Hemi all by himself

IIRC owner crew chief (or he was an owner) 100% Blind
hands on too, not as much now, he's getting a little older
now that he has $$$ backing/sponsors help
& a good crew too now
he does a great job, that car qualifies for most all races,
in the top half too

Maybe someone with Parkinsons could file piston rings or work the valve grinder.
