Anyone have an old Holley 4160 with this brass balance tube connecting the float bowls? In the diagram it says it has a round gasket and o-ring, but I can't find any info or part number. This is for a 318 with Edelbrock Performer intake.

I also can't see how any seals or rings would install, as even a small o-ring doesn't seat anywhere that would seal it on either side.

The carb is rebuilt otherwise, and runs great except for a fuel leak around that tube entry. Hoping someone has one or is familiar. Thanks.

I seems to me that #45 is a thin brass washer and #46 is the O-ring. I have some of each.

I believe it is the balance tube, not the fuel transfer tube that the op is refering to. My key point is that the seal on the balance tube is installed under the metering plate, or metering block gasket.

Haven't used that design carb in many moons....and thinking only once....so, that 'internal' tube is a balance tube between the front and rear bowls?

Yes. The larger aluminum tube distributes fuel from the inlet cavity to the rear needle and seat. But you knew that!

My Holley experience is only with 3116's. Why pull that balance tube in? One more thing to leak.

Very helpful, thanks all. I had to source some hardware, the trick kit from Holley didn't have anything for this old style tube. But got it back together it was missing the o-rings and washers for sure and it was causing a fuel leak out the side of the float bowl seam.

Next carb will be a newer model!
