Homemade 727 trans kickdown?

I read a thread on a different website about making one Using a bicycle brake cable. I think the hardest part would be making the brackets. Has anyone here tried making their own? If so please post some pics.

No pics but i used a B&M shifter cable on one of my previous cars and worked well.
