Just got registered on here now that I finally got my B body (only took 22 yrs) and I was wanting to know if anyone has fit an Edelbrock rpm airgap intake under a power bulge hood (lil grump lump style) on a 68 coronet. If so, was there room for spacers or what had to happen to clear? Everything I have researched has pointed at that intake being the best setup (average torque and hp) for small blocks operating at or under 7000rpm. 7000 is the highest I would take an engine and it would be a rarity if ever, 6500-6800 would be plenty. My car has a performer on it now on a 318 (974 heads) it came with and for now I am seeing what the options are with that engine until I decide to pull the trigger on throwing a big block in it. Any experience with it is much appreciated.

Loosely Crumple up some foil and place on top of air cleaner. Close hood, open hood and measure thickness of foil. That’s how much room you have to work with. Cheap and effective
