LolIt’s like getting a blow job and getting left with blue balls ...
I put them on my 67 just to bother the guys that don't like them. Kinda like black steel wheels and painted bumpers.Yeah seems like the hood pins are like cats. People either hate em ur love em.
I am surprised the pins were a factory option on cars where they weren’t the primary attachment!
My hood is not yet painted
Get one of these,I know a guy who makes them!I need to get me a helmet….
Whoa almost a big problem. That can happen to anyone. Glad I have a latch! The last time I drove my 71 Challenger convertible I forgot to put the clips in on the T/A hood. I saw it starting to lift and locked up the brakes, the hood dropped back down. I casually got out and put the clips in! Nothing to see here!

Me too, I like painted bumpers on dark colored cars. Looks more evil.I put them on my 67 just to bother the guys that don't like them. Kinda like black steel wheels and painted bumpers. View attachment 1788305
That's like stopping at 3rd baseIf I do mine I don’t think I would use lanyards on the pins.
IN 4 pages, which one is that exactly? It's a wonder that nobody has manufactured a hood pin lock design that's sleek and simple and does away with the silly lanyards. There's that Chinese-made one linked earlier but it looks like garbage from the reviews, but it is an otherwise good design, just unfortunately made with Chinesium materials. A couple chrome or polished aluminum pins and a simple lock tumbler that can be keyed open.
On page 2, post 25, linking to Temu...but this is the same product on Amazon:IN 4 pages, which one is that exactly?
