67 SS/ WO scoop, haven't seen one on a Charger. Maybe the 6 Pack

i have just put a 2" reverse cowl grafted onto my 68 charger as i also had clearance issues and like most people will agree scoops look **** on a charger this why i oncorporated a bulge/cowl on mine.
or try a 67 hemi scoop.

@ Benno thats a nice charger you have there the hood looks bad ***, Thanks everyone for the pics, I am not the artistic type and I have trouble picturing what the finished look will be this helps a ton

I vote for the B body six pack scoop or the Blade II Charger. The others don't fit the lines of the Charger as well?!

No extra clearance for the engine, maybe even less with those set ups? Thought you wanted more clearance!

I believe there is extra clearance, theres no support rails in that area to get in the way, I may be wrong but I think the air cleaner sits up in there about 2 inches higher tan a flat hood,

Think about the air grabber mechanism, it takes room to fold it down over the air cleaner.

maybe, I'll have to check that out, if it doesnt work I just might do the hood with out the grabber door set up, a fresh air scoop would be great but what I really need is clearance for that m1 single plane

I guess the best person to ask is 6pktgo? I'm sure you could always raise it a little higher? If your going to customize it you can do it that way a little higher than stock! :headbang:

did they make a manual cable pull door? the vac ones do have alot of clutter up there, may I could use the manual cable with a small bell crank on one side

true, thats a really good idea, clearance and air brillant! I can get the bubble/bulge only that goes on the hoods in fiberglass from a 71 RR or suber bee charger but the front lines of them look a little "off"

Looks like they're electric switches? Maybe use a choke style pull knob.

No more that 6pktgo's hood? a Road Runner hood melted to a Chargers hood. Road Runners hood looks too be a few inches short. A fiberglass hood will be the easiest to work with if you go the customize direction.

How much room do you need? Have you tried a drop base air cleaner? I am sure you have but I had to ask.

But I am partial to the six pack scoop, as you can see I did put one on my satellite, because I had clearance issues as well.

There was a dark green Charger at Norwalk a few years ago. Cowl hood. Certainly one of the nicest Chargers I've ever seen. As I remember it ran low 9s in street trim. The hood did not distract the nice lines of the car. Say what you want about cowl hoods, it looked good. Better than anything else I've seen on a Charger.

Six pack scoop looks best to me. But I saw a Charger with a 67 WO/RO scoop on it before and it looked very good to me. It was nice as they are not that tall so it looked nice as it was not real high and had a nice clean look to it on the Charger. Ron

Hood scoops don't belong on a Charger.

My opinion is to go with a modest but adequate cowl to provide the height you need. It suits the lines of the car too.

The indentations already in the hood would lead into these maybe? The center cowl gives you clearance.
