Well, got my old Hooker competition headers out. Number stamped on the flange says L9900 7 91. These are 2 inch adjustable from my 63 Max Wedge car. Bought in 91, run 2 years and car was parked in 93. Can't seem to make any sense of that number. My guess it will fit old B body with an rb block (413, 426, 440). Maybe someone knows more than me.

I thought this was going to be a "do they ever fit with modifications" post. You would think after manufacturing the same part numbers for over 40 years they could make them fit by now....

Maybe I am missing something, but when I try and research the number stamped on the flange it seems to go nowhere. Not going to use them again, but if I try and sell them, people will ask what part number is on the flange. And that number seems to go nowhere. Not a big deal, but was just curious if someone knew what that number meant.

That number is probably some sort of date code or batch number they were made in. Just list them as what they are off of and what they "should" fit. All us car guys know they are going to need a ding here or a bend there.

My plan is to take pics and explain as much as possible. I agree with what you say.

Is it the set with the rear 2 tubes going through the inner fender?

Ive been using that set on my 440 powered 62 since the eighties. Mine dont have the hooker badge though. I dont think those have been made for at least thirty years. I bought mine at the OCIR swapmeet.
OCIR closed in 1983.
