Hopefully an easy Edelbrock question

Yes....my 383 with the 650 eddy is fickle with timing...double check the mech advance in the distributor is moving...maybe slow it down...my carb is at #2 change in the owners manual book chart.
I have the 1805? With the adjustable air door tension so perhaps your air door may need to be moded to slow down/open at a different rate.
Keep playing with it!

Did either of you move the accelerator pump to the inner hole? I've had it make a world of difference. It's 1 minute job.

i tried that yesterday. For mine, the inner hole was too rich, too fast. It is nearly right in the center hole for me.

Did my step up springs today. Went from the 5"Hg to 8"Hg. Before doing this I made the accelerator pump adjustment from the center hole to the uppermost hole, which was a noticeable improvement. The spring change, after some timing and mixture adjustments, have completely transformed the car. It feels completely different and drives the way it should.
