It appears you east coasters latest Noreaster has mase it to upper Iowa.
It's currently snowed almost a foot and still coming.
With a strong east wind things tend to drift.
Around here groves and snoebreaks are built to deflect things from the Birth and west but most blizzards in spring come from the east.

Was out checking livestock at 5am and it was getting bad.

In 2013 it snowed a foot on May 2.
I had already planted 200+ acres of corn.
Luckily it wasn't up yet so it was unaffected.
I think thus us going to be an average year as far as spri g weather goes.
I've been seeing waterfowl flying North for a few weeks and the trees already are budding

I had to run up to waterloo then around to iowa city and back to dsm last night. Only place i got wet was in dsm. When i got home and turned on the weather i see i got out of those areas just in time. Windy here too!

40F here today and sunny. Snow is melting, can see grass in places, mud season is coming next...oh joy. Bushes have buds out, as do some of the trees, geese been flying over into Canada for several weeks now, my sheep are losing their coats, the ducks began laying eggs again. Looks like spring to me.

of rain &/or snow the past 30 days...

I love the springtime it usually starts in mid-Mar. here
BUT; Mother Nature said wait a month or 2...

my elderly Aunt upcountry about 12 miles,
has been getting a shitload of snow,
I'm sick of shoveling off the deck & roof edges...
She doesn't need to be falling on ice or snow crap...

For the 300+ days usually we have of sunshine, here
I guess I can cope, hold out another few weeks if need be...

We've had snow July 4th at the cabin a few times...

I had a 7am delivery in Easton Pa. on Thursday. I got loaded in Southern Alabama on Tuesday morning it was 77 degrees. By the time I hit Virginia that night it was a full on blizzard. Needless to say, I drove through it all day on Wednesday. C'Mon Spring!!!

Hell is on the way here. Starting to stock up on summer gear. Ice box full of beer suntan blocker a new hat and all new a/c filters for the house. So im ready maybe more beer lol.

I spend a week in Mesa ever January and love it. Can't imagine the desert in the summer.
