How cold does it have to be before it cracks the block?

I assumed everyone runs antifreeze, even in warm climates...... for the corrosion protection at least

The rust inhibitors and water pump lubricants don't work? I've been running my vehicles like this for a LOT of years now.

I can’t imagine what it would be like living in a place where you could get by without antifreeze. But I guess really, most places on the planet are like that.
