How do you all do a Tuff wheel budget "restore"?

I bet I put 20 layers on there, with lots of drying time between.
Each layer slightly melted and bonded into previous layers, by the time I was satisfied it was still not as thick as a factory tuff wheel, but boy, was it grippy.

Masked the spokes and sprayed on.
Stopped short of runs, too much at a time was prone to puckering, even though that seemed to lay down flat completely after 12 hours. Went right over the bottom spoke finish piece.
Had to hold it in many different directions while spraying to get an even thickness and no runs. The solvent did not just dry, it also permeated into prevous layers, so the thicker it built up, the longer it took to dry each time.
