How important is a A12 wingnut ?

1219 & 1289 are date codes. 121st day of 69 & 128th day of 69..
4392 & 4394 are A12 Automatic trans carb numbers... Looks like the right stuff to me... You should be getting PM's any time now..

So the air cleaner is not the correct one? I am disappointed, this intake was removed in the early 80's from the (supposedly) original car, wrapped and stored ...

You have allot of correct original parts... Swapped air cleaner is unfortunate but pretty understandable... The air cleaner you have is the most common universal Six Pack air cleaner...

BTW Love your Avatar.. Combination of Polynesian Tiki, Mechanical Madness & Rambo..

Thank you, we posted at the same time. I think its an automatic because of the idle up solenoid? And the carb number says so

Quite the find. Yes, it is and Auto center carb (4392) Very complete with the elusive High idle solenoid, heat riser.......if you had the holy grail air cleaner you'd be looking at a hand of Aces!

I've got an old friend of mine that's from Laval as well.

Remember most never expected to be restoring these 50 yrs later. They were raced, abused, engines swapped on weekends, ect It was a totally different era.
The proof.....I bought my A12 in 1985 for $500
My circle of friends had AARs, Chargers, RR, ect and nobody had a bunch of money wrapped up in them back then......nobody wanted them.

Oh I get it, I could right a sad list of cars I had/lost
Early 80's, my neighbor had a 69 Charger 4 speed car, he wanted $1800 I offered him $800, he came back at $1200, and I walked away. Still kicking myself.

https://www.americancarcollector.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/9f9f79e544fb8eb705d18df3c18b9f0a.jpgA12 is an option package for the 1969 Roadrunner and Superbee only.
Pkg consists of the 440 six pack engine pkg, and a fiberglass hood that lifts off ------ ala no hinges . There is no option to close said hood scoop in inclement weather . exterior wise is mainly just the Plain black 15" steel wheels with exposed chrome lugnuts

N96 is an option where the bottom side of the hood has a bolt on fiberglass ducting to draw in outside air that can be closed during inclement weather
Thats not completely true. The A12 was also the option code for the 1970 Hurst Chrysler, so not the 69 1/2 rr and sb only.

"exterior wise is mainly just the Plain black 15" steel wheels" - my friend, IF you can find those plain steel wheels.......it would be a very lucrative income for you. In fact they're quite rare 15X6 JJ Made in Canada "H"Wheels made by Kelsay Hayes

Not Kelsey Hays. Correct, original A12 H wheels were made by Motor Wheel. Hence the "M5" stamping by the valve stem hole.

So where is a picture of this wing nut you think is correct?? :poke::poke:
Honest answer, I did look for it yesterday and it was not where I thought it would be ...
I sold most of my cars a couple years back and have been cleaning and selling off parts since. Every winter I clean up my mezzanine so I am due to get on my hands and knees and look for that bugger. I know I have it, I think it will eventually turn up in a drawer somewhere where its not supposed to be. My thoughts are its probably not original because the air cleaner mis match.

Look at the bright side - you are way ahead of most people that want A12 parts - the air cleaner can be easily swapped once the correct one is found.

...and I promise I won't scoff at your car because of an incorrect wing nut!

But some jackass likely will... Probably someone who either doesn't have a car, their car isn't finished or isn't nearly as nice as your car...

Exactly...this is from my buddy's 1970 Chrysler 300 Hurst car...

BTW...I recall seeing this so-called correct wingnut that this thread is about in my collection of spare nuts & bolts.

If I can ask you, what type of air cleaner is on that Hurst 300?
Would anyone know if the chrome top I have is original to something? Or was it custom? I can tell you it weighs a ton.
