How many FBBO members have cancer?

I don't mean to pry but if you are willing to answer, I wonder how many members are in the same boat I am in having cancer.

In 2006, I was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma (bone marrow cancer). I went through chemo for 3 months and it's been under control ever since.

In 2012, I was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer. I am on medication costing $4000 a month (luckily paid for) and so far, it remains under control.

There is hope.

wow sorry to hear that diagnosis, I'm very healthy thank goodness & I don't have any form of cancer or any real medical issues, other than my back acting up every so often, so far "knock on wood"... I've worked around allot of nasty stuff over the years too, around Racing since the mid 60's as a child to present & 39+ years in Construction/Automotive Dealerships, that other people seem to have gotten really sick from... I wash my hand allot, almost OCD compulsive, to keep anything I touch, out of my mouth, nose, ears & eyes... My beloved deceased Mom had taught me that at an early age... I'm not sure if it really works or not yet !! we'll see... But I don't hardly ever even get sick, even the flue or common colds, even when everyone around me is sick, "knock on wood"... I hope you kick it's freaken' a$$ & take no quarters, I hope you get well soon & get cured, I hope we have you around for many, many, more years... I'm sending you some powerful good healing vibes right now...

diagnosed late 2010 had surgery and removed it, came back 8 months later and went thru 8 months of chemo, an it did good shrinking it but i still have it. chemo maintenance is keeping at bay. NEVER WILL I GIVE UP, NOBODY SHOULD!!!!!!!

I had Colorectal cancer 14 years ago. It stayed away 1 year. Then metastized to lung. I had 1/2 lung removed 12 years ago. Chemo Radiation the whole 9 yards. I have been cancer free for 12 years now. Why in gods name I am still here I can not tell you. I was stage 4 the second time around.

Man I hope everyone beats the crap out of their cancer, until you don't have your health or someone around you is sick, you take it for granted, I never will again... Get well/Get cured soon & kick it's ***, everyone who has that Hannis cancer crap...

my wife has skin cancer on her nose...two weeks ago they had to cut a 1/2 dime size chunk out of her nose and last sat she had 1 of three re constructive surgery's....very tough road and we know its not the same as lung of liver cancer but hard just the same.

I haven't had cancer but it runs in my family. My aunt was given 6-8 months with chemo with advanced colon cancer.. She had surgery only and no chemo and went to Dr. Gonzalez (http://www.dr-gonzalez.com/index.htm) Its 21 years later now and she is doing well. My sister had a cancerous tumor the size of a baseball on her kidney when she was a year old. She had surgery and chemo and augmented it with Dr. Gonzalez treatment. That was also 20 years ago and she is "cancer free". My uncle had advanced multiple myeloma and followed his treatment and is still going strong 7 years later, he was even able to dance at his daughters wedding a year ago. After seeing the remarkable recovery of my relatives first hand I would recommend looking into his treatment for anyone who has to fight this terrible disease. It is worth the cost, we and our loved ones only pass this way once, and I can vouch for its effectiveness. Best wishes for good health to any of you currently fighting cancer...

Keep up the fight Brother. My wife is a 3 yr. Breast Cancer survivor.

A goof friend & ex-racing partner Rob C. went to CTCA 888-991-3066/ Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Phoenix Az., but they have a few centers in different areas east & west, he had cancer spread to a couple of places, before he knew he was even sick & they kicked it a$$, he looks way better now, than he ever did before he knew he had cancer... IIRC he's 8-9 years now cancer free, IIRC he was stage 4 I believe too... I hope you all get well soon

My Mother & Father both had cancer.......I get check every few years...

Live evryday to the fullest! My wife should not be here. She is a 17 year survivor of stage III Ovarian Cancer. 8 years ago my flying career came to an abrupt end with a diagnosis of MS, which also destroyed most of my central vision. I can't read a book or drivew anymore. I was a smoker until 1980 and became very athletic after quitting. During a routine MRI for the MS in Hanuary 2010 a spot was found on my right lung. It was cancer. I had the top lobe and all the lymph nodes removed. All was clean. I am going on 4 years cancer free. I still have the Hemi GTX!

I don't have cancer. I am a cancer advocate. I am a sports chiropractor by profession. In 1998, I diagnosed my sister, she came to me with these key symptoms. She had seen her MD in November of 1997, who told her it's in her head and you just have a virus. I saw her in April of 1998 after a car accident where I differentially diagnosed her that her back pain was not from the accident. At that point, knowing the rudiments of diagnosis, I proceeded with the five cardinal signs. The Five cardinal signs to look for in the case of most cancers:

"Back pain" (Also, somatic (body) pain --Her's was upper back pain)
"Non-productive cough" (Cough does not produce phlegm)
"Low grade fever" (This may or may not spike at night.)
"Pain that worsens at night" (Typical of most cancers and infections)
"Night Sweats" (She was not in menopause)

I sent her to Sloan Kettering in NYC, they staged it, a rare Stage III Hodgkins, saved her life. Fast forward to two years ago. Her husband gets the exact same diagnosis in Florida, comes up, treats for a year, and six months later, died in September 2013. I picked her up from airport yesterday. To spend time up here so she's not alone. We are spending Thanksgiving with Stage 4 Lung cancer, he's 81.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you who are brave cancer survivors!! Keep on keepin' on
