How do I determine how many quarts my oil pan holds? Morrosso deep pan on a 440. Anybody have a link to get measurements?

usually 7(some have more capacity but popular one seems to be 7) but..if you are installing it...dump in 5 and keep adding until proper level. If not...run the part number through morrosso and get the info

If I knew the proper level I would know how many quarts. I'll check morrosso site and see if they give dimensions. I have an adjustable dipstick that was on it. I just don't know if it's set for that pan.

I only see one listed that LOOKS like mine. That one is 7 quarts. I'll measure mine and see if it's the same.

It "SHOULD" be the same 7-Quart pan.

I have it on my Max Wedge engine.

See pic below with Dale Reed, engine builder....

the pan will be deeper...the level will be the same reading...FULL with the dipstick you have without adjusting it. The pan and pickup are different...nothing else...the dipstick is good for the original pan and the 7 quart

Makes sense...duh me. I still need to make sure the adjustable stop on the dipstick hasn't moved. That's why I needed to know how many quarts the pan holds. When I change oil and put the correct amount of oil in it then I'll be able to tell if it's reading correct. I don't even know if that's the right LENGTH dipstick...... Saying dipstick in my head while typing makes me think of Rosco on the Dukes. Lol

anyone have a 440 motor you know ? borrow theirs
