Just wondering what a completely stock all original 67 440 would be worth. It is complete from the original holley carb ( list 4440 ) down to the oil pan.
The fan blades are bent due to another engine bumping it when setting it beside the 67.
oil fill tube is also bent at the manifold .
One freeze plug is missing.
Bought this thinking it was a 69 and found out the other day that it's a 67
Numbers on block 2536430-7
Date 10-12-67
Haven't cleaned any other areas for any other marks or numbers

440 hp block for 67 is as valuable as a 68 hp on up . Depends on who wants/needs it. Usually a bare block goes for around 300. If it has 915 heads...figure 300 plus or minus because of needing a valve job. Crank is worth 100. The rest is subject to needs...stock intake is no big attraction as the pistons/rings...etc.

I bought this engine with the original plans to build a 451 stroker. That changed over time and I recently bought a 77 440 with 55k original miles on it. And was going to take the rotating assembly out of what I thought was a 69 , I got the 77 tore down and ready and brought in the 69. I pulled the manifold off and a wire brush showed me it was actually a 67. So I style at that point. And later that not I got a good call on the block I was really wanting and a steel crank. All ready to go. So now I don't really want to just tear the 67 apart if someone needs it for their car and don't rally Wang to part it out. Don't have the room or desire to have labeled parts taking up my garage space. Is small enough as it is.

Look at the flat pad on the front of the engine. It probably says D440 and that will indicate a 1968 production year 440. The casting date of 10-12-67 is after the production run of 1967 and is into 1968 model year. Pull a valve cover and the head casting numbers should end in 250 or 906, most likely 906.

I figured it would be a 68 , end of the year generally take over to the following year. No chance it could have the 915 heads ?

Curious, is there a partial vin stamped on the block? You are close enough that there is a very slim possability that you could have the original motor to my 68 charger

post up the stampings on the pad ......... D440, an assembly date, and HP, if present

I paid $500 this summer for a used 1973 440HP with a comp magnum 280H cam, and 906 heads. Intake to oil pan

Paid 150.00 for a 73' short block last fall so I guess it all depends where you live and what kind of demand their is in your area !:headbang:

I will clean all pads and take pics if i can. Plus put the numbers and marks on here. I will try and so at my garage tomorrow after work.

Hemi rebel , that would be a very slim chance. But I will post all I can tomorrow after work. Would be awesome if it was , would be a true survivor then.

Don't feel bad super bee_ski , I paid 650 for it thinking it was a 69. The guy new I really wanted a 69 for the steel crank for my build so he jacked the price up. He was originally selling it for 500 until he seen my ad on cl. And called me. My buddy knows the guy but didn't know I was the one that bought it until about 6 months later.

I'm not looking to sell it . It's not eating anything but I'm not going to use it either so if someone needs it I'd sell it. Make me a decent offer
