I'm a new mopar owner and just picked up a 70 BEE with a 383 and it has a large oil pan. How much oil does this thing take I added 7qt with filter and it's not at the dipstick yet??
if the pan hangs below the suspention and is flat on the sides it should only be able to hold 7.5 qts max.if it bulges on the sides it could hold upto 9 qts,but those are farly rare race pans.measure your dipstick tube length to where it goes into the block(at edge of pan).then measure the stick length from oil pan end to seal end(not the handle)and compare the difference with someones same measurement here.(i am at work and no where near my car or i would give you the measurement myself)
