gearboxcompare.jpggearboxcompare.jpgsteering shaft length.jpgI went from power to manual on my late B. Set the two gear boxes side by side and measure them. The length difference is what you gotta cut off. In my case, I had to extend the shaft with a sleeve - welded to the column shaft - pic. Header clearance could be an issue also.

Also remember that the spline coupler is a different size. I believe that the manual is larger.(I may have that backwards)

Looks like I am too late! I am doing an oposite swap round to you and would have swapped parts, still happy to trade anything, am in UK . Jerry

I went from power to manual steering on my 63 Sport Fury and I used this adapter they sell to make up the difference. As you can see its about two to three inches longer then the manual shaft as thats the lenth of the gray adapter you can see coming off my steering box and connecting to the black steering shaft. I was considering changing my manual steering over to power steering in my 64, but it may be more work than I care to do. I just wanted my wife to be able to park the car but then I really don't want her to drive it till I am dead.

I'm going g from power steering to manual on my 63 Sport Fury, I have the box and column. Did you say there was an adapter that's needed?

No adapter needed if you have the correct column for the type of gear box being used. Just need the correct coupler.

I have a Mopar Perf. Billet Steel adapter with mates power
column to manual box = the best american made piece
$125.00
It makes a weekend project into a 10 minute deal!!
