How the heck is this suppose to fit???

Thanks--I can still learn new stuff.--My task these days is retaining (and mixing) new information and fitting it with the old. I have no experience with aftermarket plugs.
Bruce,

The new stuff is flat out horrible....Less than 5% in a catalog is slightly close to correctness...No kidding!

It is sad we cannot even get a kit of body plugs that fit with ease.....The things that el dub mentioned...been there and done that and careful not to damages the pans....What I did different years ago was to sand the perimeter to get the repro's to fit better..Then bang the sh** out of them.

Best thing to do if you do not have originals is to hit the junkyards and pop them out....PITA but at least you will have stuff that is correct and fits....

Keep in mind you can get them out of 68-70 A, B, and C bodies.....increases your chances of finding them

It's funny that these little plactic pieces will live in the dirt that the cars turn into.
Maybe that is where the "vin" should have been placed.:D

If I had known it was going to be this difficult, I would of used more care taking out the old ones

put some soap on it and drive it home!....... if the plug doesn't survive, it was junk anyway......... come on, make me proud!

I'm not coming to Texas to do it for you!
What time can I pick you up at the DFW airport?

The plug you have pictured looks like a rubber plug? The ones you need are polypropylene.

Shawn

DO NOT muff up those pans.....You can have my kit if you need it or I can put you in touch with a place that can pull some old plug(it will take awhile for them though)

that sucks, all mine went...... same # ........ pic sucks , but notice how much it's "pinched"

Rubber goes behind the Seat...Look at my interior pic above....I have taken hundreds of these out..

They used rubber and poly, Originally!......The new ones are too big...

That's what I thought as well. 6 holes, 6 rubber plugs

Yep---all part of this conversation. Original stuff vs aftermarket.
I am miffed that a vender can sell something as a "knockoff "/ original and it be the wrong size as well as the material it's made of.:realcrazy:
Did I/we miss something in their advertising?

It's not the only thing. Live and learn. Save everything until your done.

Yep my bad there are 4 rubber ones that size in the floor pan two behind the seat and two under the back seat.

I've got a guy in Dennison that I can probably get them from. Thanks

Justin is correct in that are just the wrong size. I'm very OCD on things like this but if I couldn't
get the correct size I would open the hole a bit

I thought about that too. Plugs are already damaged so I'll have to get more anyway. I thinks it's time to walk away before I do some real damage.
