OK, I know how to locate and remove the appropriate bolts but which spot welds will need to be drilled out? I can pretty much track them down by following the seams but I don't want to drill out any that don't need to be removed.

Thanks,

Wheatdog

I never ran into a fender welded on anyplace on my mopars from 63> thru the 70's. The only bolts that were ever a pain or hidden, were at the top/back[cowl-side] or header panels. Make sure all the flaps are out of the way.

I may be looking at it wrong but it looks like there's some spot welds. But if you've already removed front fenders from this era car and it only had bolts, I'll check again. I certainly be glad if there's no spot welds to deal with.
Thanks,

Wheatdog

Absolutely NO spot welds need to be cut out. You're not seeing a hidden bolt or two...

my 1963 plymouth had spot weld next to lower mounting bolt on fender had to drill it to remove fender

I once had an original 65 coronet that had its front fenders tacked at bottom near bolts. Small tack welds that were painted over also. Thought they were sealer globs at first but were definitely welds. About messed up fenders trying to take off cause they bent at those spots. Had to take a small wheel to cut.

Have only had this once and besides this time its all bolts holding on

A while back I replaced the passenger front fender on my '64 Polara. There are absolutely no spot welds. Only about 8 bolts hold it on. However, it is easier to get off if you remove the bumper first. IMG_3378.JPG

I wonder if certain plants added a spot weld or two. I've owned/parted several 64 Dodges and I never had a spot weld to deal with. I never paid attention to the plant where they were built.

Pulled many fenders off these cars. No welds. Bolts only. Any welds may have been done by a body shop, not factory. Cars did get banged up and fixed, sometimes the fastest way to make money. Lower fender bolts get rusty and break trying to remove, I can see a shop welding on the bottom of fender.
