My mirror adjuster is rattling inside the door and I tried to remove the chrome side mirror from the outside. I loosened the one visible screw but the screw is still captured and something else is holding the mirror to the door. How do I get this thing off? It looked so simple haha!

There’s a threaded stud with a nut that you’ll have to access by removing the door panel. They can be awkward to reach but a good set of extensions make it do able.

You can see the nut on this mirror.

I’m new to the old stuff. I’ve only had this car for 2 years and it’s my first old mopar. So yeah, really :D

Some of the cheby style mirrors only had one set screw but then you push the mirror forwards and it comes off. Soo might be a former chevy guy.

Yeah, some Pontiac stuff also...it was a GM thing....
Ha Ha
I used to be into Pontiacs (Still am)
I'll never forget the day I helped my Bud pull his 383 from a 69 Superbee
After working on Pontiacs, 389s and 400s (326, 400 and 455 Block is all the same size externally)
When we got that 383 out I was shocked at the size of it.
Compared to a 400 Pontiac it looked Huge!

I'm just bustin' yer chops. :icon_fU: Logically if there's no fasteners in sight then they MUST be under it. Inside the door cavity would be the place to look. Some have one post and a placement tab and some have two posts. Roll up the window to get it out of your way and reach up in there. Remember to have a helper hold the mirror so it doesn't fall out and scratch up the door, or tape it up so it stays there till you can get a hand on it...
