I have no engine or anything in the car..I can unbolt the 4 bolts in k-member but what easiest way to get it out with torsion bars together or will I need to undo them from lower control arms first..Ive heard to remove torsion bars to undo clips & go backwards with them? looks like they would come out forwards to me but thats why Im asking....
Also..how do i make sure to mark them correctly to reinstall the same height later after cleaning & painting?
Thanks,Brian

Brian ~ The easiest way to remove the bars is to... jack the car up and support the lower control arms with jack stand etc. Back off the adjuster bolts to take off all the tension. (Before you back off the adjuster bolts, measure the distance the bolts are from the bottom of the control arm for re installed height). Once the tension is off the lower arms.. remove the spring clips on the other end of the t bars. It might take some muscle to twist the bar loose from the control arm (if they are rusted or corroded in) you can buy a clamp or make one to assist with the breaking the t bar free. Once the bar is free, just slide the t bar backwards out of the rear socket. There is a right and left t bar, so when you reinstall... make sure left is driver and right is passenger. Oh and just to be safe... make sure you have the car supported with additional jack stands under the frame. Good luck and be safe....
