I’m going to go with a hyd clutch. Any feedback on whether a slave cylinder or throwout bearing cylinder is better or less reliable??

I know the “slave” would be maintenance friendly. The throwout type not so much.

Interested in opinions.

throw out are so smooth , I would go that route , just bleed the system every year or so

How often do you have to do any maintenance on a throw out bearing? If you had to change the bearing with either type you'd have to take the bell off. Leaks from hydraulic lines are another issue for sure but install the parts correctly, drive as intended and you'll likely never have an issue.

While not a Mopar, from 2012-2018 I drove a hydraulically actuated 6 speed stick over 125K miles and never touched the clutch, bearing or clutch actuation system once.

I'm in the process of a 4 speed conversion myself, I'm choosing a hydraulic throw out bearing. I'm fortunate to have a lift at home so dealing with issues would certainly be easier for me.

I had a hydraulic slave but with 2" headers and 3.5" collectors, everything was too tight. Changed out the slave for an American Powertrain hydraulic throw-out bearing almost 3 years ago. Centerforce Dual Friction clutch. No maintenance, no bleeding after initial set-up. The key is in exactly following the installation instructions. Easy pedal pressure and smooth engagement.

Yep,

That’s what I figured also!
I’m not expecting to put more than 2000 miles a year on it.

I like the clean install of the throwout type.

Thank you for your input.

I've had a hyd t/o bearing in the Dart since 2006. The master cylinder on the firewall finally gave out (I rebuilt it once about 3 years ago) but the t/o bearing is still going strong.
