Is anyone running a Comp Cam XR292, XR286H, or XR280H camshaft in a street car? Also, if anyone has information about Lunati's VooDoo 60312 or 60313 hydraulic rollers that wants to chime in feel free. What kind of street manners do these camshafts have in a 505"-512" stroker? I kind of want to know idle quality and vacuum for power brakes. I heard some of you guys talking about hydraulic rollers so if anyone has any information please share.

My Hemi is a 505" and uses the Comp 280HR. It has an additional custom grind to get to .598/.579. I can report that I consider it mild mannered with an easy idle. Seems to make vacuum fine, but then I don't have power anything.

I use an older grind of a Crane Cams Hyd. Roller & lifters from 2005 or so, in my 479ci stroker it makes decent vacuum & is far easier on valvetrain components than a solid roller would be, you give up some HP/TQ for reliability on the street , what do you want HP/TQ or streetability & great performance, you really need to choose or suffer the ill effects of what you ultimately want... Valvetrain life... Solid rollers will work, but are very hard on valve springs, push rods, retainers, locks, valves & lifters... The biggest issue I see is, lack of quality MoPaR hyd. roller lifters that will live for an extended period of time like the Cheby/Dorf **** does... Not enough numbers buying, to get them to produce quality ****.......
