Has anyone installed one of these systems in their Mopar? If so, how and what did you use?

I need power steering for hydroboost?? The older muscle cars had power nothing and most don't want to add any. I would like it but it is not cost effective.

My friend has it in his Nova. It works just fine and isn't dependent on engine vacuum so big cams are not an issue. You don't necessarily need power steering but you do need the P.S. pump, so unless you already have it the install price can creep up. Also, when the engine quits you lose power brakes immediately, you won't get 1-2 more stops out of it like a vacuum booster.

I've been installing electric boosted brake systems lately. It's a smaller set up on the firewall and there is an accumulator on the remote mounted electric pump that will give you about 25 pumps before you lose boost if the power fails.

I don't know how well this pic will work, but if you look just in front of the control arm, you can see the accumulator for the brakes. The electric pump is just forward and below.

Who's system do you use?

I have one installed on my '69 Charger coupled with a Wilwood MC, in conjunction with a 4-wheel Wilwood disc system. I converted from a manual 4-wheel SSBC system.
Performance is night & day. Really a positive feeling pedal.
Also, despite the previous poster, if you lose power steering there is a reserve that will allow about 2-3 stops with power. See that little canister? That is a nitrogen reserve tank that holds pressure in case you lose PS.
I got the setup from RMS (Reilly Motorsports). It installed easily, and came with everything. Brake system came from Prodigy Customs, a Wilwood distributor.

I actually think the hydraboosts work well. It's just my opinion (and it's only my opinion) that they stick out a bit far, tend to be a bit clunky looking and I just don't like the extra plumbing from the pump. (Or having to run a pump at all if you don't have power steering). For the record, I am not totally enthused with the billet master look of the electric unit in every application, either.

To be honest, I don't know right off the cuff. I've installed and plumbed quite a few of them and they work brilliantly. I know they're pricey. I've been keeping my head stuck in the back shop and don't get involved in any of the front office stuff anymore. I can check and see if you want.

I would like to know, the hydroboost systems that I am looking at are running from 700-900

I got mine from Reilly Motorsports (RMS). I think it was around $600 without the M/C. I already had the M/C.
Hardest part about the installation was the hard lines from the prop valve to the M/C. The car had manual brakes prior to the Hydroboost with a Mopar/stock type M/C from SSBC. The Hydroboost placed the M/C further up. Also, the fittings from the Wilwood M/C did not match up to the ones on my hard lines.
I mocked some up using stiff coat hanger wire, & sent them off to Fine Lines where they bent up new ones using my templates. Got them back, & they fit like a glove.

Good luck with whatever you choose!

So, like, did anyone call the number in the link I posted? I don't know the price right off hand, I just install them and don't have a lot to do with the retail end of shop I work for.
