so with cruise season here...my car is "sans" engine in my garage...sold my escalade and now we are a 1 car family...son of a!!:angry1:
i know my engine rebuild is going to be at least a month.
there...got it out of my system for now...
off to job #2 for the day.

Seems to be a ton of 383s around and around here lots of 440s on craiglist.Find yourself a cheap runner and throw that in till you get the good one rebuilt.

Sorry to hear it djais.. Does suck but i agree, if you can find a decent BB until you can get yours rebuilt you may be ahead of the game. You could take your time and maybe make it better then it was.

thanks to all...and i have thought about that. However, unless you hear it run, how do you know you're getting something that will run? the last thing i want to do is shell out another $1500 (estimating) to buy a potential problem?

I bought a excellent running 440 last summer for $450 complete carb to pan.Heard it run before the guy pulled it.If i did some trolling on craigslist i bet i could find a runner for 5 bills yet today.
