I am trying to figure out how to get the sway bar bushings back into the bracket and then over the sway bar. I have a 68 Charger RT that has those sway bar bushing brackets that are welded together. I have heard of a guy who cut them open with a die grinder, inserted the bushings over the sway bar into the brackets and then welded them shut again. Anyone know what I am taking about and got any better ideas. I would like to use the original brackets and the bushings were shot so I have to get them too.

Just as you said...That is exactly what I had to do. I cut them where the original weld joints are and threw the bushing in and then rewelded it exactly how it was.

I've also heard of people throwing the bushings in boiling water to make them more pliable so they can squeeze them in.

i just done my sway bar bushing i used dawn soap then squeezed them in no problem
