Another Gen 1 Hemi at Carlisle

Chrysler’s at Carlisle.
Really impressive 392 Hemi, Latham SuperCharger, dual toyota water pumps, crazy fabrication on the manifold and pulley system with accessory bracketry, multi point EFI....1969 Charger

I saw that at Carlisle. It looks like a Really strange setup. I can’t imagine that it puts out much power at all judging by the size of all the runners. But, it does look interesting :thumbsup:

Yes, the owner Jim from Maryland was a cool, down to earth guy. This is his first Mopar (he’s a chevy guy) he did all the metal work on the car and welded in all the body panels himself. He also did the body work himself, which looked really nice as it’s a black car, no waves, laser straight. He admitted that he didn’t build the engine, he simply bolted into his Charger, using an engine plate.
As far as the manifold goes..... That Latham blower has dual discharge ports, one feeding the right “plenum” and one feeding the left “plenum”.
On his build these plenums actually feed the opposing cylinders through those long runners. It’s a “dry flow” blower AND manifold. There’s Multi Point Electronic Fuel Injection.
I’m thinking the air doesn’t give a **** about how long the runners are as the blower is just cramming air in that engine. The fuel injectors are in the perfect location, close to the head.
The car was for sale, I had my woman friend with me and really wanted to inquire about the asking price. I thought I had taken a pic of his contact info but apparently I didn’t.......

I run a 16 groove serpentine drive belt on my SBC (marine) blower motor. It's nice and quiet and really does not slip at all. :thumbsup:

@moparcrazy
That is an awesome looking big block, but I have to ask...
I see "Mopar" cast into the block, is it aluminum or silver painted cast iron, and just so I'm clear, who made it/what is it?
Thanks
