I Paid Around $100, now listed for $500 and $600!

I purchased a '72 340 Thermo--Quad some years ago for in the nieghborhood of $100 or so. Now I find two carbs with the same number, one listed at five times what I paid and the other listed at six times (and they are not even rebuilt yet. I don't know what this has to say about the future of the restoration hobbyist.

I'd wanted a pair for SO long. I finally got the 270s..
Now I just need a car and to finish the 572...

I don't recall ever seeing them new, WITH the springs, valves, etc for less than $2,199...

The trick is to buy them separately with a 10% off coupon. Trickflow messed up. They sold me the wrong heads, so they upgraded me to the springs for a roller cam. The item numbers were mixed up.

My 65 Coronet is a joke to buy for. I'm going with a new audio system and want to put the front speakers in the kick panels. I'm not cutting mine up, so I found a pair of garbage for 100 and a better pair, but will need work and will still need to be painted for over 200. A/C or none A/C, what's the difference?

Just a quick note: That post reminds me of my 79 R/T I got brand new, E58 option (police) 360 4bbl. I had a pair of legendary Cerwin Vega CS-18 6x9 speakers in the rear deck and I needed some great door speakers to attempt to approach their level of performance. I got a pair of EPI rectangular door panel mount 2 way speakers. Not nearly as efficient as the CVs, but they could handle the front 120 watt amp which mirrored the 120 wpc rear amp.

I bought a 71 Hemi Challenger for $400... That was then, prices have gone up...

The costs of parts and these cars is getting ridiculous. People are already getting discouraged. When boomers who have wads of money, grew up with them, and have sentimental attachment are gone, there won't be near the demand. Some of us Gen Xers will pick up them up but i can't see millenials paying $70K for a roadrunner which will probably be $170K in 20 years. They'll still be buying butter and eggs though.

Mine had the Hemi.... And the 4spd.... And the 4.10 Dana... But it was in a million pieces.... And on Guam.... And the prior owner had orders for a new duty station, he was leaving in less than a week...

You think that's bad..... the guy I sold my GTX to made $25k in less than 3 years.....and all he did was crash it twice....and add some dorky valve covers and leads.
Oh, he also spread some private videos and pictures for the world to see. Now some scummy Bulgarian is cashing in on my hard work. Worst part is that he plastered my full name out there for all to see.

In the hands of a much better guy now.

Now that I think about it..... the process of complaining against a video on YouTube is so convoluted, that I should just copy the a-hole's video and upload it as my own and sit back and wait for him to complain.
