I think I scored

I'll take that solus off yer hands for a crisp $50 bill. Pure profit on your end! Where do I send the money!?
Funny thing was I wasn't totally sure what it was when I started bidding. I just knew it was some type of analyzer. I guess no one else knew either. I think it might be a great tool as I get my 5.7 hemi in my charger.

You did real well....Good for you!!!!!
The guy had passed away some time ago and had a restoration business and regular shop. He had so many tools and so much shop equipment that they ran two auction rings and it ran for 12 hours. What surprised me was he had a 70 charger he was in the process of building. It had by what I could tell a motor home 440 in it (77 year) . It was in paint and looked real nice. But other than that was totally unfinished. Everything else was in boxes. I spotted what appeared to be filler or bed liner on the drivers foot well and in places in the middle of the trunk pan. Like they were covering rust. It had about a 1/4 inch of undercoating on the entire underside of the car so real hard to see what was really there. This car brought 28500.00 ! I thought that was a little rich for what was there. Fender tag numbers indicated it was once a 383 auto.

Nice score congrats...

My motto, he who dies with the most tools wins

I've been falling behind of late :poke:

As a machinist, I cringe at what China Freight sells! But, I needed a paint gun for cheap and after opening 6 kits with a large and small gun in them, I took all the best parts from all 6 kits and got a decent spray gun kit :D I'm surprised no one came over to me and asked me what the hay I was doing because it took me a good 30 minutes to tear everything apart and assemble one good kit and then put all the others back together again lol. Man, most of that stuff is plain junk and there is no way I'd ever buy a tap kit from them....

And it has gotten worse over time. 35 years ago as a poor family man I bought a 1/2 inch impact from HF. Still using and abusing it today. I looked at what they sell now and had to laughed.

When I was a kid I bought a tap and die kit from them, like 1,000,000 pieces, standard and metric. This must have been '85 or so. I'll never forget it - most of them had huge burrs on them, like beyond burrs. I had to finish maybe half of them on my dads bench grinder to even make them somewhat usable. And the tap handle was somehow miniature- looked normal in the catalog but just wasn't.

I have a few 'good' China made tools with one being a large vise. It was cheap for the time (mid 70's) at 60 bucks so I gave it a shot. A Sears vise was over 50 bucks and was 1/3rd the size. I've beat on and abused that China made vise ever since. China knows how to make quality stuff but it's the ones that's importing the crap that keep on wanting it cheaper and cheaper so their profit margins stay up....
